Was it that the new bridge violated some unspoken local taboo? Did it spoil the view? Perhaps it was difficult to get to or there was no sense of community ownership of what was built by foreigners...
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of an NGO digging wells in Africa some time ago. Some went unused because their location violated a sense of propriety.
