Even if you don’t have a long memory, those around you might. It’s well worth being cautious.
Now, don’t assume these long-minded individuals will be vindictive. Certainly, some might. But you should be equally aware: if you hope to work with them, request a favor, or rest on their mercy, you may pay a price, even if you don’t remember your infraction. There will always be consequences.

So true! Once upon a time, I had a great boss who was both a rock musician and an Abbot in a Buddhist monastery; he would remind me to just keep depositing into the positive side of the Big Karma Bank as often as possible; that way, when you need to take a little out, you're covered.
